Living Hours Employer

Living Hours Employer

Pi is one of the first employers to implement a new standard and become an accredited Living Hours Employer. Living Hours is a new standard that has been developed by the Living Wage Foundation. The Living Wage movement has benefited hundreds of thousands of families by enabling them to earn a wage they can live on.

Pi’s commitment to Living Hours builds upon an existing Living Wage accreditation to provide our staff at Pi with the security and stability of hours they need to meet their everyday needs. The standard has been developed to ensure that people have the predictable working patterns and income to better plan their lives.

This means that everyone working for Pi are entitled to:

  • Reasonable notice periods for shifts, of at least 4 Weeks
  • A contract that reflects the hours Pi staff regularly work
  • A guaranteed minimum of 16 hours of work per week

This commitment applies to not only directly employed staff at Pi but also to our third party contracted staff. Pi is also working on to ensure that staff working on our contracts (such as, our cleaners, or caterers and security staff,) receive Living Hours contracts as well.

We understand that some members of staff at Pi may choose to work more flexibly, as this helps them to balance commitments outside of work.
