Chlorine Dioxide Analysers Contribute to Secondary Disinfection Processes at Forres Health Centre
Chlorine dioxide analysers have a range of applications including but not limited to cooling towers, food preparation and secondary disinfection. The DioSense from Pi is a an extremely stable membraned sensor, that is insensitive to residual chlorine interference. It does not require reagents or buffers and is tolerant of waters containing detergent.
The DioSense from Pi is used in the secondary disinfection process at a healthcare facility in Forres. The service team at Pi recently carried out a service visit for Robertson Facilities Management, the building maintenance managers of Forres Health Centre.
As expected, high sanitation levels are crucial in a healthcare setting. At this site, incoming clean water is dosed with approximately 0.3ppm chlorine dioxide (ClO2) to ensure that the water contains a residual disinfectant. All the taps and toilets within the premises are then exposed to this, ensuring that they are disinfected. The DioSense is used to monitor the ClO2 dosing so that the process only circulates water of the correct standards, maintaining high standards of clean water.
