AMP 8 Cycle – Are You Investing in the Right Equipment?
Following the privatisation of the UK water sector in 1989, asset management plans (AMPs) were introduced by The Water Services Regulation Authority (OFWAT). AMPs are 5 year planning cycles that are designed to improve the water sector by building on insights and outcomes from previous cycles. AMP 8 kicked off in April 2025 and is forecasted by OFWAT to be the largest investment AMP cycle yet with a proposed expenditure of approximately £104bn [1].
