DO Meter, Turbidity Meter and Suspended Solids Meter Showcased in Ireland

At Process Instruments (Pi), we know that good partnerships are built on great communication — and that’s exactly what our recent Lunch and Learn sessions with engineering contractors Ward & Burke delivered.

Following their successful tender win with Uisce Eirrean, Ward & Burke reached out to deepen their understanding of Pi’s sensor technologies and their applications. Jake, Pi’s account lead for Ireland flew to Cork to meet the Mechanical and Electrical teams and deliver the second of three sessions focusing on Ward and Burke’s areas of interest, and of course, lunch was complimentary on Pi.

Ward and Burke Construction Ltd.

After the success of the first session, Ward & Burke were keen to explore more sensor technologies that Pi has to offer — particularly turbidity and dissolved oxygen.

Pi’s turbidity meter TurbSense® is one a kind. Thanks to its patented technology it’s the only turbidity sensor that does not require the infamously impossible ‘zero’ that traditional turbidity sensors need. It’s cheaper than most turbidity meters on the market as it doesn’t require calibration, so maintenance is relatively simple. This short animation explores the benefits of TurbSense® in greater detail.

OxySense is Pi’s dissolved oxygen meter. Offering in situ sensor verification as an option, this DO meter is able to reduce maintenance by automatically checking its sensor operation at user defined intervals. Calibration of the sensor is normally required only once per annum so with the automatic sensor verification option and the self-clean option the sensor may not need operator intervention for up to a year.

These sessions are more than product demos. They are tailored discussions aligned to Ward & Burke’s real-world needs, that detail the technical depth their M&E teams need to make informed decisions about which equipment is best suited to the applications they handle.

“Informative, engaging, and very relevant to our work — we’ll be in touch soon for quotes and more details.”

The teams were curious, asked excellent questions, and expressed clear interest in further collaboration.
