Recently, Huzhou IMP, the master distributor of Pi in China, was very pleased to be invited to participate in the Performance Acceptance Symposium, to discuss the coagulation and clarification equipment online monitoring system development project of Huaneng Hainan Dongfang Power Plant. The symposium remarked that the application of suspended solids analysers (CRIUS® SoliSense® ) and turbidity analyzers (CRIUS® TurbSense® ) at this plant, had been highly successful and recognized as such by the end user.

The CRIUS® SoliSense® systems from Pi are not only installed in the first and second reaction zones of the plant’s mechanical accelerated clarification tank, but also in the sludge discharge pipeline, to monitor the suspended solids in real time at each stage of the process. Remarkably, the two CRIUS® SoliSense® units installed in the first and second reaction zones are completely submerged in water, and the complexity of the tank structure means that once there is water in the tank (i.e. the tank is working), the suspended solid analysers cannot be removed and subsequently calibrated or maintained.

This mechanical accelerated clarification tank has been running continuously for more than 500 days! This means that for a time span of more than 500 days, the CRIUS® SoliSense® systems have been continuously and reliably providing data without being pulled out for inspection, calibration, or maintenance!

IP68-rated sensors and mounting accessories, patented technology, minimal drifts and extremely high stability makes this possible. In addition, the system is equipped with Pi’s automatic cleaning device (AirFlush), which is integrated into the CRIUS® controller to carry out regular and timed automatic cleaning of the sensors, which also greatly extends the maintenance period of the whole system.
