Coagulation Control Project in the Scottish Isles
The CoagSense is different to other coagulation controllers because it is instrument based, meaning that is a stand-alone controller and therefore no PLC is needed. However, if the site has an existing PLC, CoagSense can use digital comms such as Modbus, to provide full remote control and data monitoring. Coagulant dosing control using the CoagSense can be achieved using one, multiple, or all of the following parameters:
- pH
- Turbidity
- Streaming Current
- UV254

As each CoagSense is built specifically for the needs of each site, you only get what you need, and nothing you don’t. It also facilitates automatic dosing, removing the risk of underdosing and expense of overdosing. This makes the CoagSense a more affordable and reliable coagulation controller that works for everyone.
Pi is an official supplier of Scottish Water. Recently, Scottish Water have invested in several CoagSense coagulation controllers from Pi. Pi’s engineers recently commissioned two new CoagSense units, one on the Isle of Barra and the other on the Isle of Benbecula.
The image to the right shows the CoagSense at Barra WTW. It includes two UV254 monitors, one streaming current monitor, and a pH probe, all controlled by Pi’s instrument controller, the CRIUS®4.0.Please click here to learn more about the CoagSense.
