Particle Counters in Yorkshire Water

Particle counters from Pi can assist water treatment companies in the ongoing defence of drinking water from cryptosporidia and giardia. Boreholes that may be affected by sample water are particularly susceptible and a particle counter can be used to monitor particles in the size range of the cryptosporidia and giardia bacteria (3-10µm).

At Keldgate, Pi particle counters have been used for a number of years to monitor the membrane effluent to ensure that there are no changes/spikes in the number of particles in the size range 3-10µm which could indicate a potential contamination.

All particle counters from Pi can be calibrated by the user but in this case Pi’s service team visited the site as they do every year to inspect, service and calibrate the particle counters.
