FilterSense at Dwr Cymru

In 2024, Dwr Cymru bought a FilterSense particle counter from Pi to monitor the water on a site in Bretton. The accuracy and reliability of the FilterSense was so impressive that Dwr Cymru invested in a further 6 FilterSense systems.

The FilterSense is a low-cost solution to monitoring filters for Cryptosporidia and Giardia sized particles. It has the ability to count particles up to 750 microns and size particles up to 127 microns. No software or PC is required when using the FilterSense as it is set up directly from the instrument itself. The FilterSense is also the first particle counter with multiple sensor capability, so other parameters (such as turbidity) can be added to the system too.

Text Box: FilterSense at Dwr CymruAt Pi we recommend that all particle counters are serviced annually to ensure reliability and accuracy are maintained. This servicing includes legacy products and can be carried out by our engineers. However, Pi also offers a training option, whereby Pi’s engineers train your site staff so that future servicing can be carried out internally, saving you time and money. Pi’s service engineer re-calibrated the first system bought by Dwr Cymru and commissioned the new 6 all in one visit. Annual calibrations make the FilterSense a cost effective particle counter as they are generally cheaper to maintain.
