In February 2010, Essity Ramsbottom, a recycled fibre tissue mill, purchased an online pH meter from Pi. In 2015 they upgraded the instrument and now in 2023 that instrument is still going strong, providing accurate and reliable pH readings on Essity’s effluent plant ensuring that Essity remains in compliance with their discharge consents.
Jonathan Cook at Pi, who services and calibrates the sensor every month said “I’m always amazed at how well the sensor does in such a harsh environment. I’ve considered putting an auto clean system on the sensor many times but it just doesn’t seem to need it!”
Pi’s online pH monitors can come with automatic cleaning systems to ensure trouble free operation but sometimes the sensors are so good that they just don’t seem to need it!
