Team Bonding Event 2025
At Pi we know that strong teams don’t just happen. They’re built through shared experiences, collaboration, and a little bit of adventure. Every year the team at Process Instruments take a well-earned break from the office with a team bonding experience. This year the team headed into the heart of the Lake District, for a two-day bonding trip at Low Bank Ground, Coniston.
We kicked off the trip with rafting on Coniston Water, led by a team of excellent instructors who kept things fun, challenging, and inclusive.
One of the highlights was the raft-building challenge, where teams were given barrels, ropes, and planks to construct their own rafts from scratch, whilst keeping in line with the size and shape restrictions imposed by the instructors to encourage creativity and problem solving. Once built, it was time to put them to the test with a race across the lake. Some designs were more seaworthy than others and not every team made it to the finish line, but the day was filled with plenty of laughter and good-natured competition!

After a quick shower and change, the team built a cosy campfire and got the BBQ going, keeping everyone well fed after a very active day. Some played the guitar and the karaoke quickly followed. Not everything was pitch perfect but that didn’t stop anyone from joining in.
After a hearty breakfast the next morning, the team tried their hand at kayaking. The team split into a mixture of single and double kayaks and put their paddling skills to the test with more races and challenges. Some had plenty of experience, while others were new to the sport but that was all part of the fun.
Day two ended by trading the calm serenity of the lakes for the heights of Honister Slate Mine; one of the last working slate mine mines in England. A few brave team members took on the Infinity Bridge. Suspended nearly 1000 feet above the valley floor, this bridge is the UK’s longest high wire bridge. It’s not for the faint of heart, but those who crossed it said it was an achievement to remember.

This trip wasn’t just about having a good time. It was about investing in the people who make Pi what it is. At Process Instruments, we believe that a strong team culture leads to better collaboration, innovation and ultimately, better service for our customers.
